Celebrating 20 years of affordable housing

Raven was 20 years old on 25th March 2022. We’re marking this special milestone with a year of celebrations!

We share our Birthday with local resident, David Arthur, so kickstarted our anniversary year by presenting him with a cake to mark the occasion.

David has lived in his Raven home in Horley with his wife Jackie and their three children and stepchildren since 1984.

At that time, they were Reigate & Banstead Borough Council tenants but became R&B Housing Trust (now Raven) customers when the council transferred its homes to create the new housing association on 25th March 2002.

David was thrilled to be asked to join the celebrations and said: “I was delighted to hear I’d be sharing my birthday with Raven’s 20-year celebrations… here’s to the next two decades!”

Our Head of Housing Services, Sue Young, presented the cake to David. Sue, along with nine other colleagues, has proudly worked for Raven for 20 years.

If you would like us to support your community event, charity or neighbourhood as part of our 20th Birthday celebrations, please email us at raven@ravenht.org.uk.

Amy Cheswick, Director of Customers and Partners, said:

“Reaching our 20th anniversary is a significant milestone and we can’t wait to celebrate our achievements with a year of activities we’ve called ‘20 positive impacts’.

“The activities are focused on working with the communities we serve; and events include tree planting, wildflower seeding, providing planters, offering our vans to make local deliveries and supporting community events, as well as charities and our partners.”

Raven retains ‘Customer Service Excellence’ standard

We’re thrilled that Raven has retained an important award which recognises our high standard of customer service. We always strive to provide excellent customer service, focusing on individual needs and preferences. We are pleased this has been recognised and we’ve received Customer Service Excellence accreditation for a further 12 months in recognition of our efforts. The rigorous assessment process tests areas which are a priority for customers, with particular focus on delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude.

Jo Silner, Raven’s Head of Customer Experience, said: “We are pleased that we successfully retained the standard and received awards in five areas where we are performing above the required standard. "These areas included having an in-depth understanding of different customer groups, engaging and involving customers using a wide range of tools and our overall commitment to customer-focussed service delivery. “We are proud of the accreditation result and will continue to look at ways of improving how we deliver services to you.”
