Reporting
tenancy fraud

Tenancy Fraud has a high profile at Raven, and we are always keen to hear from you if you suspect that a property is being illegally sublet, or that there is other fraud such as a dishonest benefit claim.

In a recent case, we had to take rent arrears action against a tenant where a possession order was granted, and we found that another person had been renting the property from the tenant, for some months. She had been paying him rent, totally unaware that this was an illegal tenancy. The police were informed and the person who was renting illegally has been referred to the Council for housing advice. The property is now being prepared for letting to a suitable tenant from the Council waiting list.

Illegal subletting denies a home to a family in need, so it is important that we tackle it together. You can find out more or submit a report on our website www.ravenht.org.uk/your-home/residents/suspected-tenancy-fraud/

Are you over 55 or have a family member over 55 who would benefit from home visits?

If you answered yes, then we could help you. Support can be as little as a daily check-in call twice a week to a call every day alongside a weekly visit. We have enhanced levels of support packages that can be offered to those living within our accommodation over the age of 55 and can be tailored to an individual’s needs.

For extra information please contact Jaime Neale at Raven who can arrange to send out additional information or a home visit to discuss more in depth.
