Our community investment programme offers a wide range of support with issues such as managing your money, finding a job or better paid work, getting online and maintaining your tenancy.
Customer support fund
Our customer support fund helps customers who are struggling financially and have no other sources of help. The fund is overseen by a panel of people who review each application and make awards based upon agreed guidelines.
Last year we received 142 applications and 88% of those were successful. We approved applications worth £38,601, enabling customers to purchase things like white goods, furniture and school uniforms, as well as supporting local charities such as foodbanks.
Moneywise - financial support
The Moneywise team is here to help with all matters financial - from support with budgeting, helping with benefit applications, help managing debts and getting grants for customers. During the last year, the team helped customers apply for benefits and grants totalling £1.87million.
Support when you move in
We know that moving into a new home can be particularly challenging for many people, both financially and emotionally, especially when this is their first tenancy. Our settling in team provides additional support to those who need it, this ranges from support navigating the complexities of setting up a new home to accessing funds to help with carpets and other home essentials.
Support to stay in your home
The Parashoot service works across East Surrey and Mid Sussex, supporting people referred by their local council who might be at risk of losing their home. Anyone is eligible for support, regardless of who their landlord is, or whether they own their home. We also help people to access essentials like furniture, food and benefits, as well as accessing support for mental health issues or to find employment.
Last year Parashoot helped 115 customers, providing them with support and advice to enable them to stay in their homes.
