Community noticeboard
We want to include things that are happening in your local community. It doesn’t have to be a Raven initiative. It could be a new community group that’s been set up, an event or activity you’re planning that you want to spread the word about, or a community event that was a great success. Please email your suggestions to raventimes@ravenht.org.uk.
Coronation parties
Residents at our sheltered schemes Portland House, Delta House and Rowan Mead all enjoyed parties, with the help of our support coordinators, to mark the King’s coronation. It was a great excuse to decorate the communal areas and get together for singing, playing games and of course eating cake!
Thankfully the sun shone and a brilliant day was had by all!
Brighter Community Fund
Do you have an idea for a community project which needs some funding to make a difference to where you live?
The Brighter Community Fund is a pot of money which, as one of our customers, you can use to improve your local community, or fund a service or activity for local people to enjoy. Projects need to support our purpose of ‘Building homes, Changing lives’ and applications can come from an individual or community group.

Repair Café in Merstham
Each month at the Merstham Hub, the Friends of Merstham run their Repair Café. It’s a session led by local residents who have brilliant knowledge and skills to help you fix household items – it could be anything from vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers, to toys and jumpers!
It’s a great way to save things from landfill and give them a new lease of life – saving you money too!
Sessions take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 3-5:30pm – no booking required!
Competition winner!
Congratulations to Charlie who was the winner of our competition in the last issue of Raven Times.
Charlie, from Merstham, was presented with her prize – a refurbished laptop – by Colin, our Digital Inclusion Officer. We hope you enjoy your prize, Charlie! By making sure she was signed up to MyRaven, Charlie was automatically entered into the random prize draw.
If you’d like some help and advice about getting online or improving your digital skills, then come along to one of our drop in sessions hosted by our digital inclusion officer. Find out more here - www.ravenht.org.uk/getonline
