What’s happening in your communities – an update from our wardens
Cromwell Community Garden
The community has come together to create a fantastic communal garden on Observatory Walk, Cromwell Estate.
We’ve been involved by installing benches (bought by our brighter community fund) and taking part in a community fun day where residents came together to finish the garden. It was a great turnout on the day and now the Cromwell community has this brilliant space to enjoy over the summer and beyond!
Thank you to everyone, especially to the Cromwell Community Group for your hard work in making this happen.
“Our group works with other residents and local organisations to improve our community. Conrad, one of Raven’s wardens, has been working very close with us for several years and we want to thank him for all his hard work. I also want to thank other residents and local partners who all played a contribution towards the area, as this is a joint effort whereby together, we can all feel involved and proud. Please can the residents look after this community space. I look forward to starting other communal areas.”

Football fever in Merstham
Children living at Ketton Green in Merstham needed somewhere to have a kick about that wasn’t too close to the bin store. So Graham, one of our wardens, has made and installed rebound football boards for them to get their practice in! The boards are proving to be really popular and are being used a lot, so we’re looking where else we can install them.
Recycling in blocks in Reigate and Banstead
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council is introducing full recycling for communal blocks, including food waste and mixed recycling. As this is being introduced across the borough, we’ve been busy building new bin stores big enough for the additional bins – like this one at Rathgar Close, Whitebushes.
This is a good opportunity for us to make a plea – we’ve got a real issue with fly tipping at some of our blocks. We ask you to please use bins appropriately and dispose of your rubbish correctly. We’re spending a lot of time clearing up bin stores after misuse and in some instances this is having to be recharged back to everyone in the block. Let’s all pull together and stop this fly tipping!
Stay safe this Summer!
One of our top priorities as wardens is to keep you safe and we appreciate your help with this. Can we please remind you that there should be no BBQs in communal areas as this causes a fire risk. We ask that when using paddling pools, children and pets are always supervised and that paddling pools are emptied and tidied away at the end of each day.
