A spotlight on anti-social behaviour

We are always keen to work together with partners to help resolve anti-social behaviour (ASB) in and around your neighbourhoods.

Clearing up your communities

National ASB awareness week starts on 18th July 2022 and we will be working with community partners, including Surrey Police and Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, to target one issue that blights everyone’s life – littering and fly tipping.

This issue can lead to much bigger problems within communities, make areas unattractive and affect how safe people feel in their neighbourhood, so we want to work with partners to do all we can to combat it.

We’ll be arranging clearances in and around the borough and inviting you to grab a picker and join in. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for news of when and where.

Getting on with your neighbours – mediation and coaching get results!

Do you have an issue with your neighbours? Sometimes it’s difficult to find common ground, for instance if there are noise problems. We know most people want to find a way to live well with neighbours, but this isn’t always easy. If this is you, community mediation is an excellent way forward.

We help fund Mediation Surrey and West Sussex Mediation Service, so it doesn’t matter where you live, you can get some independent support. Both organisations are specialists, using trained mediators and coaches who will work with you to resolve issues. They offer coaching if you don’t feel confident attending a mediation meeting. Sessions are tailored to the individual and have proved to be invaluable when helping people facing anti-social behaviour (ASB).

“I was referred to support coaching by our local county police after experiencing anti-social behaviour. I was extremely sceptical about doing any sort of coaching as I didn’t believe it could help me. I was proven wrong! The coach helped me focus on the facts, instead of completely focusing on what else could happen or what had happened. She also helped me to deal with anxiety attacks, giving me techniques to deal with them should they arise. Talking to my coach has been nothing short of life saving! She’s helped me in more ways than she realises and I will be forever grateful for the understanding, kind and comforting manner in which she spoke and helped me deal with my current and past experiences. This has helped me, my family and friends so much.”

Surveillance cameras – an update

We take anti-social behaviour (ASB) seriously, and have policies and procedures to tackle different types of incidents. More and more customers are asking if they can install their own ring Smart doorbells. We’re taking advice and are in the process of producing a guide on this which will be on the website soon.
