Do you need help to find work?

A new Raven scheme to help people find work is progressing well.

Working Homes, which is run with local partners, is open to anybody who is trying to find a job and who lives in a home where there are no employed adults.

The support on offer is varied and flexible and includes training courses, work placements, counselling, help with childcare costs, travel expenses – and much more.

One of the scheme participants is currently working on improving his IT skills as that is his main barrier to work.

His advisor has been supporting him to update his CV and set him up on job vacancy websites so he can start applying for jobs. He’s also completed a beginner’s course in IT at college and is now applying for the next level. Recently attending a series of wellbeing workshops has been really beneficial for him and helped him to meet new people.

Another participant commented: “My adviser is really nice, she has been a really good listening ear and is great with advice. She has also helped me get the help I needed with my PIP appeal, which I wouldn't have been able to do on my own.”
