Healthy homes, healthy lives

Raven is investing £1.2m on combating damp and mould to help you live well in your homes as part of a two-year 'Healthy Homes' project.

We are also beginning work on a £104m investment to ensure your homes meet national net zero carbon commitments by 2050. This will mean significantly increasing the insulation and ventilation in homes to make them cheaper and easier to warm, and also installing more efficient or renewable forms of heating in place of gas.

The Healthy Homes team will be in contact with you if you have experienced issues in the past, or your home may be likely to develop a problem. The team have been working hard to fix mould problems caused by leaks or rising damp, install fans and provide information on how to stop condensation.

If you can't see a specific point where water is getting in, then the problem is almost certainly condensation related, which can be helped by:

1. Ventilating regularly, whilst cooking and bathing. 2. Avoiding drying clothes on radiators if possible. 3. Keeping items of furniture away from external walls. 4. Keeping trickle vents in windows open. 5. Keeping lids on pans when cooking. 6. Wiping moisture from windows daily. 7. Trying to keep your home an even temperature if possible. Please see the Energy Saving Trust website for further advice.

If you think your home has a leak or rising damp then please call 0300 123 3399 and we will arrange for an area surveyor to visit you. If you need help managing your energy bills or money, please contact the Moneywise team on moneywise@ravenht.org.uk or 0300 123 3399.

By working together, our aim is to improve the quality of your lives and the homes in which you live.
