Your individual rent letter explains your increase.

- If we receive your Housing Benefit from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, then we’ll let them know for you.
- If you receive your Housing Benefit from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, then you’ll need to let them know your new rent amount.
- If you’re on Universal Credit, please wait until your new rent becomes effective, and then go onto your online journal and submit this.
- If you pay by Direct Debit, we'll automatically increase this for you from April.
- If you pay another way, please make sure you adjust your payments and don’t forget rent is due in advance and you need to add on any additional amounts agreed for arrears.

Mr M from Reigate was in a tough spot with rent arrears. As a single Dad to four children and working part-time, he was facing the possibility of court action for not paying his rent. When he contacted Moneywise, the team were able to step in and help. Moneywise got him food bank vouchers for his family so they were able to access food immediately. They then looked at his income and outgoings and realistic ways he could reduce some outgoings. He also worked with our employment support team to look at options for better paid work. Mr M was able to start reducing his rent arrears and now feels more confident with his budgeting and other bills.
We’re also increasing our customer support fund to help through this difficult time. This can be used to support with energy bills, furniture, appliances or outgoings you may be struggling with.
