What’s happening in your communities – an update from our wardens
Our team of neighbourhood wardens are in and around your communities daily, keeping an eye on everything from litter and fly tipping to anti-social behaviour and nuisance vehicles. They work closely with community groups and get involved with events and initiatives that work towards our aim of ‘Building Homes, Changing Lives’.
Tattenham Corner
Conrad and Neil have been working hard in Tattenham Corner installing recycled plastic planters in a communal garden area.
We’ve done various improvements in this area, driven by local councillors and the Tattenham and Preston Residents’ Association. They’ve been renewing sleepers around shrub beds, new recycled plastic benches, solar lighting bollards and the most recent planters. Funding for many of these projects is provided by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy.
Our wardens work in partnership with the local councillors or resident groups to turn great ideas into reality – making the community a nicer place for everyone. We’ve completed similar projects across the borough.
Litter picking
Unfortunately, we’re seeing more and more of an issue with littering in our communities. Not only is it unpleasant to look at but it’s damaging to our environment. Conrad, one of our wardens, went out with his litter picker on a round recently. A quick 10 minutes of picking made such a huge difference to the area.
We’re very lucky to have some passionate community groups in our area who regularly go out litter picking and they are looking for more volunteers to join their efforts including Clean Up Tadworth, Hamsters Pickers in Merstham, Banstead in Bloom and Keep Epsom Tidy.
We also work closely with the Community Payback team to support regular litter picking in Horley and The Cromwell Estate, Redhill. Let’s not forget our team of cleaners who regularly litter pick in our communities, keep bin areas clean and report environmental hazards.
Head to our website for more information about how to get involved.
We’re supporting the next Big Merstham Litter Pick on Sunday 16th April, so come and join us!

A quick vehicle reminder
As part of your tenancy or leaseholder agreement, you agree to making sure all vehicles you own and park on Raven land are taxed, have a valid MOT, are insured and are in a roadworthy condition. We don’t allow Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) vehicles to be parked on Raven land. Our wardens regularly check vehicles in our neighbourhoods and issue warning notices where needed – this could lead to your vehicle being removed and destroyed, so please don’t ignore any notices put on your vehicle. Your safety is our priority and vehicles left in a dangerous condition must be dealt with.
